While studying in one of my other classes, we came across a project that will be released in the future to help reduce the CO2 emissions into our environment, and i thought this would be perfect to share with you guys in my blog. 98% of the stuff we eat, wear, drive and construct is brought to us via ship across international waters. With that one very small statistic, just take the time to imagine how much pollution is emitted into our environment just from that fact alone? our quality of life is directly related to our participation in global trade and transportation, and without the use of ships as means of transportation, then we have nothing. To help reduce the factors that effect global warming, Japan is coming out with the NYK Super Eco Ship in 2030. Yes this is quite some time away but this is the ship of the future. The East Coast is home to some of americas busiest shipping ports. This ship would be stationed out of the east coast right here in the mid atlantic and will affect how we trade imports and exports with foreign countries. What separates this ship from others is that is weighs significantly less then most ships, therefore it exerts less energy to propel its engine. This ship is also wind and solar powered so it is definitely environmentally friendly. Above i have posted the link so check it out!
